Резюме:

In this talk, I shall present our results of the Nainital Microlensing Survey which had been carried at Nainital, India using 104-cm telescope with the main aim of detecting gravitational microlensing events towards M31 galaxy. In the process of 4-year long survey, we have also detected many pulsating variables and cataclysmic variables in M31. The identification of large number of Cepheids has enabled us to determine the distance of the M31 through their period-luminosity relation.
