Abstract: Observatories: Pulkovo, Ordubad (see below). Observers: Bobylev V V, Evdokimov A E, Kalinichenko O A, Kiselev A A, Kiseleva T P, Kruendal A V, Potter H I, Puliaev S P. Telescope: Pulkovo - 26-inch refractor, Ordubad - lunar-planetary telescope. Recepteur: photographic. Abstract. Photographic positional observations of Phobos and Deimos made at the Pulkovo 26-inch refractor and the Ordubad lunar-planetary telescope in 1988 are reported. The planetocentric coordinates of the satellites and their mutual distances are determined by the trace-scale method without reference stars. The positions are given in the coordinate system at the observational instant. A comparison with Shor's theory (1976) is made. The rms error of one 'satellite minus Mars' observation, calculated on the basis of the comparison with the theory, is +/- 0.4 arcsec for the entire observational period. Extract. Time scale - UT. Equator and equinox of epoch of date. x=Dalpha*cos(delta), y= Ddelta. Ordubad results: Phobos-Mars - 230 positions (begin - 1988 08 11.985394, x=-22".44, y=-13".96; end - 1988 11 09.737850, x=+20".59, y=+8".73), Deimos-Mars - 153 positions (begin - 1988 08 15.001157; end - 1988 11 08.855030), Phobos-Deimos - 110 positions (begin - 1988 08 15.001160, x=-10".84, y=-24".75; end - 1988 11 06.891260). Pulkovo results: Phobos-Mars - 51 positions (begin - 1988 08 24.893710; end - 1988 10 20.805659), Deimos-Mars - 29 positions (begin - 1988 09 08.890402; end - 1988 10 20.805669), Phobos-Deimos - 29 positions (begin - 1988 09 19.905435; end - 1988 10 20.805659).
