Abstract: Analysis of all available observations of faint objects near Saturn during the 1966 passage of the earth through the plane of Saturn's rings suggests the existence of at least one previously undiscovered satellite of Saturn. The data support the previously published orbit for Janus. These satellites may be major members of an extended ring. Data for the faint satellites of Saturn (Janus, Epimeteus, ...). Period: 1966. 1. Observatory: McDonald. Observer: J.Texereau. Telescope: reflector, D = 1 m. Receiver: photographic, large images on panchromatic film. 2. Observatory: Catalina Observatory of Lunar and Planetary Laboratory (LPL) in Arizona. Observer: G.P.Kuiper. Telescope: 1.54-m f/16 reflector. Receiver: photographic. 3. Observatory: Pic du Midi. Observer: A.Dollfus. Telescope: 1.2-m reflector. Receiver: photographic. 4. Observatory: Flagstaff station of the U.S. Naval Observatory. Observer: R.Walker. Telescope: 1.55-m astrometric reflector. Receiver: photographic, Cassagrain focus (13.5 arcsec/mm) on II-G emulsion with a GG14 filter.
